Hardback. Second Edition, the first edition of this iconic Biggles story was published in a much wider format. The pictorial dustjacket is a little worn to the extremities with closed tears along the fore edge, chipping to the corners and to the top and base of the spine. Not price clipped. Underneath lie brown cloth boards with printed titles and pictorial to the front and printed titles to the spine. In overall very good condition with just a minor mark to the front. There is a lean to the spine. The pages are lightly toned, however clean throughout. Illustrated by Howard Leigh and Alfred Sindall with a full page colour frontispiece and several more in monohrome. pp. 249 + 6. Overall a good copy. Another adventure for Major Bigglesworth, this time taking him to Oslo and German occupied Norway. Scarce second edition.
