Hardback. All volumes beautifully bound in rich blue cloth with embossed initial detail and ruled lines to the boards, titles in gilt to the spine. A nice bright set with just a touch of fading to the spines on a few of the volumes. Light foxing along the fore-edge. Internally the pages are clean with just the odd spot of foxing. The front free endpaper to The Pickwick Papers has torn along the top edge, loose page to Oliver Twist, there is a little more foxing to Uncommercial Traveller and The Christmas Books. All volumes beautifully illustrated with monochrome frontispiece and several more illustrations throughout. Overall a lovely set, a beautiful adornment for any bookshelf.
