Hardback. Handsomely bound in rich brown cloth with gilt pictorial and titles to the front and spine. The binding shows some discolouration with fading and a closed tear to the spine. All edges gilt. Internally the text block is weak with the front board and the top part of the spine detached. There is a large inscription dated 1880 to the verso of the frontispiece. The pages are toned with foxing to the prelims otherwise a good clean copy. Beautifully illustrated with a full page frontispiece and title page and several line drawings throughout. pp. 359 + 4. Overall a lovely copy in fair condition.
