Hardback. Bound in rich blue soft leather with ornate gilt spine. School coat of arms has been stamped in gilt to the front, "The Western College Harrogate". The leather has faded and is worn with cracking to the spine and pieces of leather missing to the rear. Presentation inscription to the front paste down dated 1905. The rest of the pages are clean despite the occasional thumb mark, beautifully illustrated by John Tenniel. The tissue guard to the frontispiece has torn. pp. 179. Overall a fair copy only, although suitable for anyone who wants to read an early edition of this children's classic.
