Hardback. New and Cheaper Edition. Bound in the publisher's blue cloth with beautiful floral pictorial to the front, spine and rear. The binding is clean and bright and shows minimal wear with just minor discolouration to the rear. All of the edges are gilt and still bright. Previous owner's inscription dated 1900 to the verso of the front free endpaper. Heavy foxing to the frontispiece, tissue guard and title page with the very occasional spot of foxing throughout, otherwise the pages are very clean. Illustrated with several full page plates in monochrome. pp. 543. Overall a beautiful copy.
