Hardback. 1897 edition beautifully illustrated by Hugh Thomson and with an introduction by Austin Dobson. Bound in the publisher's original red cloth with printed floral detail to the front and spine. In overall good condition with the front board clean and showing very little wear. The spine is lightly toned with minor shelf wear to the top and base. All edges gilt and still fairly bright. Internally the text block is a little weak. There is a small closed tear along the fore-edge of the prelims. The rest of the pages although lightly toned are very clean. pp. xvi + 444 + 4. Overall a beautiful copy in good condition.
