Hardback. Bound in the publisher's original green cloth with stunning gilt decoration to the front and spine, holly and mistletoe bordering a charming festive scene. There is a little surface wear with light bumping to the extremities. The binding is otherwise in good condition with the gilt still bright. All edges are gilt. There is a previous owner's neat signature and date, 1879 to the front free endpaper. The rest of the pages are clean despite a little foxing to the prelims and towards the rear. With the beautiful illustrations of Randolph Caldecott throughout. pp.xiv + 165. A very good copy.
