Hardback. First Edition. The ninth novel in this iconic series. The pictorial dust jacket designed by Richard Chopping has a clean front cover and is not price clipped. There are however, some abrasion marks to the corners, and spine, the rear cover is lightly discoloured. Underneath lie black cloth boards with embossed dagger to the front and titles in silver to the spine. In excellent condition with just minor shelf wear to the top and base of the spine. The bright red endpapers show no bookplates or inscriptions. While the rest of the pages are clean and bright throughout, with double page illustration to the front. pp. 221. The shortest and most explicit of the Bond novels and the only one to be told in the first person. The narrator of this Bond novel is a young Canadian women, Viv Michel with Bond only appearing two-thirds into the story.
