Hardback. First Edition. The pictorial dust jacket designed by Richard Chopping has a clean front cover. However, the corners show a little chipping, with pieces missing to the top and base of the spine. The rear cover has discoloured with a stain along the top edge. Not price clipped. Underneath lie black cloth boards with a white printed ski line to the front and titles in silver to the spine. The cloth boards are lightly discoloured with a little wear along the top edge. The stain to the rear cover appears along the top edge of the rear board. Foxing along the top and fore-edge, with slight foxing to the endpapers and occasionally throughout. Small label to the front paste-down with some remains appearing on the front free end-paper. The pages however, are generally very clean. pp. 288. Fleming wrote this novel at Goldeneye, his holiday home in Jamaica while Dr No was being filmed nearby. This is the second novel, in what is known as the "Blofeld" series, the first being Thunderball, You Only Live Twice being the conclusion.
