Hardback. First Edition. The first title in the "Blofeld" trilogy. The pictorial dust jacket designed by Richard Chopping is worn with pieces missing to the extremities. Price clipped. Underneath lie black cloth boards with embossed skeleton hand to the front and titles in gilt to the spine. The binding is generally in good condition despite a little discolouration. Slight lean to the spine. Slight foxing along the top and fore-edge. There is a previous owner's signature and booksellers label to the front endpapers. The corners to the prelims are slightly creased with the occasional spot of foxing throughout. The pages however, are generally very clean. pp. 254. The story centres on the theft of a pair of nuclear weapons by the crime organisation known as Spectre and their subsequent blackmail to The Western Powers for their return. Thunderball introduces SPECTRE's leader Ernst Stavro Blofeld.
