Hardback. First Edition. The seventh book in the James Bond series. The original dust jacket with a design by Richard Chopping has a clean front cover. There are however, small pieces missing to the corners, the rear cover is slighlty discoloured. Toning to the spine with small pieces missing to the top and base. Price clipped. Underneath lie black cloth boards with blind stamped motif of a skull to the front, which has gilt blocked coins in the eye sockets. In good condition despite minor wear along the top edge. Light lean to the spine. Slight foxing along the top edge. There is a previous owner's signature and booksellers label to the front endpapers. The pages within are generally very clean despite the very occasional spot of foxing. pp. 318. James Bond uncovers the gold smuggling activities of Auric Goldfinger and uncovers a much larger plot to steal the gold reserves at Fort Knox.
