Hardback. First Edition. A stunning copy of Thomas Miller's book on common wayside flowers. Beautifully bound in full cloth with ornate gilt detail and paper pictorial onlays to the front and rear boards, gilt decoration to the spine. In an overall good clean condition and showing minimal wear, minor shelf wear to the top and base of the spine. All edges are gilt and still bright. Internally the binding is tight with no loose pages. Yellow endpapers. There is an ink inscription dated 1860 to the verso of the front free endpaper which has been crossed out, the ink is showing through to the front of the front free endpaper. There is some foxing throughout, however, the pages are overall clean and the text is legible. Enhanced with the delicate illustrations of Birket Foster within the text. pp. 185. A beautiful book. Scarce in this edition.
