With twenty four illustrations in colour by Sybil Tawse, Charles Lamb's essays bound in half leather and gilt ruled blue cloth. Raised bands to the spine with extra gilt, title panels in red leather. Gilt text block still shiny, clean pages with very light foxing, and a neat inscription dated 1984. Frontispiece in full colour with protective tissue guard, the illustrations are exquisite rendered in loving colour detail. Brown edging to the endpapers, a tiny stain to the front hardly noticeable. Very good condition, a real classic.
