Hardback. Fourth Edition. Handsomely bound in rich brown cloth with pictorial to the front and spine in a good clean condition and showing just minimal wear. The spine has slightly darkened with shelf wear to the top and base while internally the text block is a little weak with cracking to the internal hinge. There are several ink stamps to the endpapers. The frontispiece portrait of General Gordon is not only loose, a piece has been torn off along the top edge. pp. 274 + 6. Overall a good copy.
