Vol. IV. 308 pp.Bound in half sprinkled calf with marble sides, full decorative gilt spines with red title bands, and green labels. Gilt inlay to front and rear boards with ‘LOND1818’ to the bottom of each volume. A total number of 1750 copies were printed of the first edition in December of 1817 at a cost of £238.178s. The work was first advertised in The Courier No. 7861 on 17th December 1817. Initial sales were rapid, totalling 1409 copies (Gilson A9). Published after Austen’s death.
