Hardback. First Edition. Bound in the publisher's original red cloth with small pictorial to the front and titles to the spine. The binding has discoloured in places with bumping to the corners, shelf wear and fading to the spine. Internally the text block is still fairly tight despite some cracking to the gutter. The pages are heavily toned with the very occasional page heavily foxed. However, the pages throughout are generally clean. Illustrated with frontispiece and a further 7 plates, one missing, page 77,and two drawings. pp. 206. Overall a fair copy of a scarce edition.
