The Richard Bentley second edition ‘Northanger Abbey’, published in 1833. Half leather and marbling to the boards with gilt titles to the spine. Internal cracking with front board and last pages a little loose but overall a strong binding. All pages intact, very mild foxing. Frontispiece and charming vignette both with tissue guard, mild offsetting. This book belonged to contemporary fellow female author Marianne Spencer Stanhope Hudson who published the novel 'Almack's' in 1826. Her personal bookplate affixed to the front pasted down endpaper. Rubbing to the boards with slightly bent front corner, and extremities show some wear. This copy bona fide according to David Gilson's 'A Bibliography Of Jane Austen' with the vignette caption deviates slightly from the original text on p.161. pp.440. Good overall.
