Bound in the publisher's original green cloth with embossed floral detail and titles to the front, beautifully embellished gilt detail to the spine. The boards and spine although still attached have become loose from the contents. All edges gilt. The binding is weak. There is a neat inscription to the verso of the front free endpaper, dated 1874, and a signature to the top of the title page, dated 1876. There are numerous dried flowers within the pages of the text. The pages are lightly toned with the very occasional spot of foxing otherwise a very clean copy. Beautifully illustrated throughout with hand coloured plates, including a frontispiece, and two in monochrome. pp. xlix + 186. A beautifully illustrated botanical reference book.
