Hardback. A first edition copy of this beautifully illustrated story by Cecil Aldin. Containing 24 plates in Aldin's distinctive style, depicting the canine hero of the story. Quarter bound in brown cloth with pictorial paper covered boards. The binding is in good condition although worn to the corners and darkened to the extremities, slight stain to the rear. Previous owner's inscription to the front free endpaper. The prelims and rear blank pages are heavily foxed with the rest of the pages quite clean. There is some foxing to the margins of the last plate while the rest of the plates are clean. Unpaginated. Overall a lovely copy.
