Hardback. A fantastic 40 volume set consisting of Comedies, Histories and Tragedies with each genre encased in a burgundy box with drop down lid. Published 1901/1902. Each box has gilt titles along the the top, gilt coat of arms to the front and a "Cheltenham College Military And Civil Department" label to the inside of the drop down lid. Bright gilt coat of arms to the inside of the top of the lid. Each box does show a little wear and fading with the lid to the comedies box detached, closed tear to the hinge of Tragedies. Each book is beautifully presented in burgundy leather with bright gilt titles to the spine and small gilt coat of arms to the front. Top edge gilt. The pages to each book are beautifully clean with a tissue guarded frontispiece and beautifully illustrated title page. Coat of arms to each endpaper. All volumes are bright and free of any wear. A superb collection.
