Hardback. This is the First Edition Thus of 1946 with the colour plates rather than the black and white plates of the 1942 edition.The pictorial dust jacket is worn with pieces missing. Not price clipped. Underneath lie cloth boards in good condition despite a little creasing to the corners. There is a previous owner's inscription and date 1947 to the front free end-paper. Slight creasing to the lower left hand corners of the pages otherwise a good clean copy. Beautifully illustrated by Denys Watkins-Pitchford. pp. 188. Overall a good coy of this classic story from DJ Watkins-Pitchford.
