A reprint of the 1550 edition with a brief history of the edition by J.A.W. Bennett a fellow of Magdalene College, Cambridge to the rear. Richly bound in black morocco leather by A.J. Brazer and J.R. Mitchell with gilt coat of the arms to the centre of the boards within a gilt ruled border. All edges gilt. Marbled endpapers with gilt dentelles. Frontispiece portrait of Samuel Pepys. Housed in an elegant red papered slipcase with black cloth ends. A scarce copy in near fine condition.
