Five raised bands and gilt titles to the spine. The leather is still in good condition despite a little fading to the rear and slight wear to the spine. All edges are bright gilt. Marbled endpapers with gilt dentelles. Booksellers embossed book stamp to one of the prelims. The pages are very clean despite the occasional spot of foxing, prelims especially. Illustrated with a portrait frontispiece, tissue guard foxed, and several monochrome plates throughout. Each page of text is bordered by a simple red ruled line. pp. xxxix + 614. Overall a handsome copy.
