This lovely hardback Limited Edition Franklin Library copy of Damon Runyon's "Guys and Dolls" is beautifully bound in deep navy leather. The book is opulently decorated, with all-edge gilt, as well as gilt decorations, lettering, and illustrations on the cover and spine. This impeccable presentation continues inside the book, which has lovely grey silk endpapers, a satin ribbon page marker, and a playful use of blue and black ink for chapter titles and other interior decorations. Gerry Gersten's imaginative black ink illustrations add a sense of whimsy and help to ground the story and its characters, as one catches a glimpse into the early 20th century New York underworld. This book has 224 pages of text, and is in near perfect condition, as its pages appear unread. This book is looking for a new home, and would be a lovely gift for any collectors of limited edition Franklin Library books, or for any fans of "Guys and Dolls".
