This lovely hardback limited edition Franklin Library copy of Hermann Hesse's "Stories of Five Decades" is beautifully bound in rich green leather. The book is opulently decorated, with all-edge gilt, as well as gilt decorations, lettering, and illustrations on the cover and spine. This impeccable presentation continues inside the book, which has lovely green silk endpapers and a satin ribbon page marker. John Jude Palencar's imaginative brown and black ink illustrations help to ground the stories and their characters. This book has 329 pages of text, and apart from some minor fading to the edges of the silk endpapers, the book is in near perfect condition, and appears unread. This book is looking for a new home, and would be a lovely gift for any collectors of limited edition Franklin Library books, or for any fans of Hermann Hesse.
