A beautiful deep blue clothbound hardback edition of Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, with stunning pictoral boards whose illustrated motifs are reminiscent of peacock feathers,and appear to be in the Art Nouveau style. Inside the book, one finds a charming frontispiece illustrated by John H. Bacon in black ink depicting Mrs. Reed coming along the corridoor. The title page playfully intermingles red and black ink, and is followed shortly after by the biographical introduction. This book does not give much away - it is undated, and contains minimal information about its publishers and its edition. This book contains 393 pages of text, and despite some scuffing and wearing to the spine, and the occasional damp spot inside the book, this edition is in good condition, despite its age. This beautiful edition is looking for a new home, and would make for a lovely present for any fans of Charlotte Bronte's work.
